Fancy Seam Designs Day # 17

Hi Fellow Quilters,
The Fancy Seam Designs Stitch-a-long is a challenge to stitch all 500 seams within Crazy Quilting- Volume III: Fancy Seam Designs by Kathy Seaman Shaw ( available at Amazon.com)
Today is Day # 17 - Stitch # 17 on page 11:
(For this seam I used a blue size 5 cotton thread, white pearle cotton thread size 8,size 11 crystal beads,3 mm white pearl beads.)This will be my last seam till November 23rd. ( For this seam I used: size 8 pearle cotton thread in red,dark green, and gold, red metallic embroidery floss 2 strands,size 6 red beads,9mm gold sequins, 7mm green sequins,6 mm red sequins,and size 12 red beads.)

(For this seam my mom used: Gold size 8 braid,3 mm gold round beads,3x6 mm gold rice beads, 15 mm silver stars attached with size 12 crystal seed beads, red,gold and green metallic floss 2 strands.

Today is Day # 14 - Stitch # 14 from page 11:
(For this seam my mom used pearle cotton thread in size 8 in a light blue,various shades of pink and a light green.Size 3 light pink pearl beads,and size 4 mm silk ribbon in purple,yellow and a green.) Hope you have as much fun stitching out this seam as she did.Happy Quilting.Hugs Katie

Teaching on Academy of Quilting in 2018

I have some really exciting news to share! A couple of weeks ago an opportunity came up for me to possibly teach my own quilting patterns as online classes next year.I submitted my teaching application and it got approved. Lesson Overview of Fourth of July Stars Explosion

  Lesson 1 Making The Star Blocks:
 In Lesson 1, I will be showing you step by step along with many color photos on how to make the Sawtooth Star block.You will learn some really easy ways to make 4 patch units along with some easy piecing techniques on how to construct the block together.
 Lesson 2 Making The Sashing Units:
 In Lesson 2, I will be showing you how to make the 54- 40 or Fight Sashing Units that go in between the blocks using the template method.
Lesson 3:Sewing The Blocks & Sashing Together:
In Lesson 3, I will show you step by step on how to sew the blocks and sashing units together to start creating this wonderful quilt top.
Lesson 4: Adding Borders, Preparing The Quilt To Be Quilted, Quilting Designs:
In Lesson 4, I will show you how to add the mitered border, getting the quilt top ready for quilting and share with you some quilting designs that you can use on your quilt.
Lesson 5: Binding & Finishing Off The Quilt:
In Lesson 5, I will show you how to make and add the binding to your quilt along with a hanging sleeve and label.

Today is Day # 9 - Stitch # 9:
(For this seam I used a light green and darker purple pearle cotton thread size 8,medium and smaller sized cupped gold and mauve colored sequins,size 11 white pearl beads,size 10 yellow and iridescent purple beads.) This is my last seam for a couple of days.
